September 11

i can remember where i was when i heard about the world trade center attack. they had briefly explained what happened in school, but it wasnt until my mom picked my brother and i up from the babysitter's that fullscale of what had happened was explained. the plight of those on the airplanes that crashed that day due to hijackers. we watched on the tv as firemen exclavated ground zero searching for bodies and survivors, the search seemingly going on forever.
im not completely sure what the terrorists' aims were, but i doubt it was what happened. our country really came together as one people, supporting the firemen who risked their lives to rescue the trapped people, grieving the lost. i doubt i ever will hear the words 'freedom' or 'hero' any more then during that time. what could have split our country brought us even closer together. the september 11th attack is just one of the many examples of how God can bring good out of evil.
